We’re now over two weeks into our campaign and we’re so pleased with how it’s all gone so far. The support from our customers has blown us away. Over 90% of our total investment to date has come from our customer base, that’s over £300,000. We’re just about to hit the 50% mark and we’d love even more of you to join us. We’re hosting our raise on Crowdcube and we’ve had a few questions about how their website works. Here is everything you need to know about investing with us on Crowdcube…
What is it?
Crowdcube is a platform which enables small businesses to attract investment from professionals and venture capital firms, as well as from everyday investors. To date they have had £347,286,175 invested in companies through their website. That’s 578 successful raises, with new investment opportunities being added every week. They are one of Europe’s leading equity crowdfunding platforms. Over £5m has been returned to investors following the sales of three businesses who found investment through Crowdcube. This return has also been generated through bond interest repayments. They have a strict due-diligence charter which means every pitch is thoroughly examined and fact-checked.
How do I invest?
To invest on Crowdcube you must be over 18 years old and legally entitled to invest. Crowdcube does not advertise investment opportunities to people in the United States, Canada, Japan or any other country where it would be unlawful for our pitches to be advertised. Investors must not register or view pitches if they are resident in these countries.
You need to make an account with Crowdcube before you can invest. This is really easy and only takes a couple of minutes. Once you have read all about the pitch you are interested in investing in, you simply enter the amount you would like to invest and press ‘Invest now’. Your payment will only be taken once the pitch has hit its target. After the pitch has hit its target you will have seven working days to review your investment. If the pitch does not hit its target no money will be taken.
How do I get a return?
You can receive a return in the event the company you have invested in makes an ‘exit’ in the future. Different types of exits include a trade sale, IPO or share buyback. These will be different for each company, so read the pitch page for further information.
