We have news (and it’s exciting news)! It is undeniable that the last few months have been a testing time for us as a business, and like so many others we’ve have had to make huge adjustments in pretty much every facet imaginable. Despite this, what has remained the same throughout is our customer’s unwavering loyalty and understanding, so we felt it was ample time to say thank you.

Enter our brand-new loyalty scheme and Black Label range.

So, how does our loyalty scheme work?

There are three bands of membership to our loyalty scheme: silver (2-4 boxes), gold (5-9 boxes) and emerald (10+ boxes). The level of membership will depend on the number of boxes you have received through your subscription. For each band there are different perks, including a nutrition booklet with 10 recipes in silver, a free gift on us in gold, money off vouchers in emerald, and much more!

Black Label

This is where it gets really exciting. We’ve also introduced a new range of Black Label products, exclusively available to our Emerald Members.

You’ll only be able to view this range on our website when you become an Emerald Member.

Our Black Label cuts and catches have been carefully curated to include only the best of luxury British cuts. We’ve picked out some of our favourites to give you a taste of the range, explaining what makes them a cut above the rest…

30 day aged Tomahawk Steak

It is hard to find a steak that is more robust in flavour than the Tomahawk steak. Expertly prepared by our butchers, the grass-fed steak is cut from beef rib and left attached to the bone, creating a natural barrier to keep the juices inside of the cut. Flavour is enhanced further as it is dry aged for a longer period of 30 days to increase tenderness and quality. We think it is best pan-seared, placed in the oven and then, just before resting, simply basted in butter, thyme and roasted garlic.

Monkfish Fillets with Chorizo

Our freshly landed Monkfish fillets are caught off the coasts of Cornwall and Scotland (depending on seasonality and availability). Monkfish has a firm texture and a distinct sweet tasting flesh, which pairs perfectly with the salty and smoky flavour of Organic Chorizo from Peelham’s Farm in Scotland. Our Monkfish is easy to prepare and delicious served alongside sautéed tenderstem broccoli for a quick and healthy weeknight dinner.

Nduja

Our Nduja has been especially developed for our Black Label range by Andy at Somerset Charcuterie. It is made from free-range pork fat, pork jowl (cut from the pigs’ cheek), paprika, cider and chilli powder. Its spreadable nature makes it ideal for putting on pizzas, spreading onto toasted sandwiches or dropping into soups and dips to give an extra kick.

Whole Boston Butt

Despite its name, Boston Butt is cut from the pork shoulder. The name denotes from the barrels (or butts) that the pork used to be stored in at the time of the Revolutionary War. It is also considered a specialty in New England, hence the name Boston Butt.

Our free-range Whole Boston Butt differs from a standard pork shoulder due to the increased intramuscular fat content, critical to the exceptional flavour of this joint. We recommend slow-cooking the Whole Boston Butt to ensure the meat achieves its melting texture, delicious turned into pulled pork or used as a base for stews.

Barbacoa Pulled Beef Brisket

Originating from the Caribbean, “barbacoa” is where the term “barbecue” derives from. Typically used to refer to meats that have been slow-cooked over an open fire (or in a hole in the ground), our Barbacoa Pulled Beef Brisket is a modern interpretation of this traditional dish.

Our Barbacoa Pulled beef Brisket has been sous vide for 12 hours by our expert Somerset Chefs, making it exceptionally tender. Marinated in a homemade blend of chilli powder, paprika, cumin and coriander, this brisket is delicious served in a fresh flour tortilla with homemade guacamole and zingy salsa.

But it doesn’t stop there – there are many more exceptional products to be discovered in our Black Label range! Although you won’t be able to order from the range until you become an Emerald member, our loyalty scheme users will be given the chance to try a Black Label cut for free in their eighth box. We are very much looking forward to having you as an Emerald Member and trying this unique and premium selection of cuts.

Note: Our Black Label range is now known as our Member Exclusive range and our loyalty tiers are New Member (2-4 boxes), Super Member (5-9 boxes) and Club Member (10+ boxes).
