We’re now four days into our crowdfunding campaign and the response so far has been amazing. We’ve gotten off to a great start, having raised over £160,000 in the first 24 hours. Thank you to everyone who has invested so far, we really appreciate it. If you’re interested in finding out more about our campaign please watch our crowdfunding video or head over to our Crowdcube page. Here are 10 reasons why you should invest in Field & Flower:

1. Support British farmers
By investing you’ll be helping us support even more British farmers like the Flower family. We love working with like-minded farmers and suppliers who use the same free range farming methods as we do. We want to bring a greater number of farmers into the Field & Flower family so we can provide our customers with a wider range of grass fed, free range produce. The uncertainty surrounding meat in British supermarkets caused by high profile cases of food fraud, such as the 2013 horse meat scandal, makes supporting British agriculture more important than ever. Read more on our meat VS the supermarket here.

2. Get proper food on your plate
Our investors are entitled to discounts on their boxes, depending on how much is invested, as well as exclusive access to new product launches and offers. As an investor you’ll be getting proper food on more people’s plates, as studies have shown that grass fed beef contains more essential nutrients and vitamins than grain fed alternatives. You can read more on the health benefits of our products here.

3. Investor rewards & EIS tax relief
We have a range of rewards for our investors, from box discounts to invitations to our exclusive Steak & Butchery masterclass. We are EIS certified so tax relief is a potential option too.

4. Great forecasted return
As well as offering investor rewards we aim to deliver three to four times return on your investment, based on our future projections.

5. We’re a home grown business
We started Field & Flower six years ago on James Flower’s family beef farm. We bought one cow from James’ dad and started delivering to friends and family. We’re a small, home grown business with big plans for the future. We have strong roots both in Somerset, where Home Farm is located, and in Wandsworth. James Mansfield was born in South London, it is where our customer service and marketing team are based and it’s also home to our second largest customer base.

6. The food industry is growing
There is currently plenty of room for businesses to grow in the food industry, with the UK online food market expected to be worth £20 billion by 2021. It’s a really great time to invest in online food delivery services, as 48% of the UK are current online grocery shoppers.

7. Our products are ethically produced
We pride ourselves on providing ethical meat that you can trace all the way back to the field. We include a traceability report in our boxes with notes on which farm your meat came from and details of butchery dates. We know this is something that is valued by consumers as sales in ‘ethical’ food and drink including fair-trade, free range & freedom foods were up to £8.5 billion in 2014, sales of which have increased year on year since 2007, despite the economic downturn.

8. We’re backed by food industry giants
Our longstanding advisors have built successful careers for themselves in the food industry. Paul Lindley, Field & Flower advisor and Founder and Chairman of Ella’s Kitchen, said “I’m really excited about the future for Field & Flower because it’s in a sector that’s growing, it has a product that is differentiated and the company’s management have high ambition, with the skills and mindset to reach that ambition.” Tim Mason, former Deputy CEO of Tesco and Field & Flower advisor, has 30 years of experience in the grocery and retail industries, too.

9. 6 years of experience
We have six years of experience in delivering household staples at a competitive price point to customers all over the UK. We know what works for them and how we can improve our service by utilising new tools like a mobile app. Over the past six years we’ve won several awards for our boxes, including Taste of the West Gold.

10. Our customers love our boxes
We have a loyal customer base who love our grass fed, free range cuts, sustainable fish and British cheese. Pamela says ‘It’s such an exciting day when my meat delivery arrives! Not only is it totally free range, traceable, from British farmers and delivered to your door but also the most amazing food. We know that with investment we’ll be able to tell more people about what we do and attract new customers.
