Our Salt Beef Silverside Joint is from native breed, grass-fed West Country beef. Our butcher has tied and brined the joints for 10 days to impart seasoning from within and give our salt beef its unique flavour. This makes the perfect centrepiece for a boxing day spread of cold meats, chutneys and bubble and sqeak. To prepare your Salt Beef Silverside, rinse under cold water, then add to a fresh pan of water and bring to the boil, simmering in plenty of water with an onion, a tablespoon of peppercorns and a couple of bay leaves. Simmer for 1 ½ - 2 hours until tender, then remove, rest and serve. 4-5 portions This product is only available for delivery on our Christmas delivery dates (Mon 19 Dec, Tue 20 Dec, Wed 21 Dec, Thu 22 Dec, Fri 23 Dec, Sat 24 Dec).

This was a bit if a shock when I read th3 cooking instructions...I've never boiled Ed a beef joint before but I put it in slow cooker with veg as advised and it turned out very tender an£ tasty and was easy to slice every one enjoyed it
