Chicken satay skewers

This satay chicken dish is really easy to put together and is perfect for parties, packed lunches or even just as a healthy snack. It’s proven to be a real hit with kids, as the marinade is mild but wonderfully flavoursome. Encourage the little ones to get in the kitchen and help create this great dish. Our free range chicken pieces come ready-diced, so all you have to do is whip up your satay sauce.

Ingredients

For the chicken skewers:
• 400g Field & Flower diced chicken
• 1 tbsp soy sauce
• 1 tbsp sesame oil
• 1 tbsp rapeseed oil
• 1 tbsp honey
• Wooden or bamboo skewers

For the sauce:
• 3 tbsp peanut butter (smooth or crunchy)
• 1 tbsp soy sauce
• 1 tbsp sweet chilli sauce
• 1 tbsp lime juice
• 1 tsp garlic granules
• A splash of water

Instructions

1. Marinate the chicken pieces in the soy, sesame oil and honey for about 1 hour, or longer if you have time.

2. Soak your wooden or bamboo skewers in water for about 5-10 mins, then thread on the chicken.

3. Heat a frying pan or griddle until hot and add the chicken skewers, cooking for about 10-12 mins, turning so that they brown on all sides or until they are cooked through.

4. Heat the satay sauce ingredients in a saucepan for a few mins.

5. Pour your sauce into a bowl and serve with your chicken skewers.
