Peak Season Operations Assistant

Field & Flower was founded in 2011 by two friends after meeting at agricultural university, one a farmer and the other a food lover. We are a leading UK food subscription business specialising in grass fed, free-range meat and responsibly caught fish. We also offer a range of artisan cheese, scotch eggs, pies, charcuterie, stocks, salts, and seasonings – supporting livestock, local livelihoods and a living planet with every product we sell.
About the role
Field & Flower is looking for a Peak Season Operations Assistant to join us on a fixed-term contract from September to December, supporting our busiest and most exciting time of year. You'll work as an extra pair of hands alongside our Operations & Supply Chain Coordinator and report directly to our Head of Operations, helping keep things running smoothly across supply chain, customer experience and operations as we ramp up for peak Christmas trading.
This is a hands on role for someone who's happiest getting stuck into the details, solving problems on the fly, and keeping multiple plates spinning during a high pressure, high volume season.

What will you be doing?
Supplier & Procurement Support
• Coordinating with suppliers on order volumes, delivery schedules, and lead times as we scale up for peak demand• Placing purchase orders• Monitoring and confirming stock availability, and flagging supply risks early• Supporting supplier due diligence and compliance checks alongside the wider teamInventory & Stock
• Monitoring stock levels against demand and flagging shortfalls or excess• Monitoring the sales of fixed volume products, communicating with the e-commerce team to ensure website stock is accurate, and products are sold out at the correct time• Supporting accurate stock counts and reconciliation, and helping to maintain clear, up to date records across systems• Assisting with intaking product and quality assurance checks
General Operations Support
Working hours: Friday 9am – 5:30pm. During the peak period of 12th December – 5th January, you will work variable shifts which will include weekends or unsociable hours.
Location: Quarry Way Business Park – Waterlip, Shepton Mallet. As public transport is very limited to the operations site, we advise that applicants have reliable transport and live within a reasonable commuting distance from our premises. Free parking is available on site.
