The Barber family have been milking dairy cows and producing quality cheddars on Maryland Farm in Ditcheat, Somerset, just a stones throw from Cheddar itself, since 1833. Barbers own milk is used to make their award winning range of cheeses. Always matured for a minimum of 24 months, this cheddar has a powerful intensity which often produces a good 'bite' that is a result of the natural development of calcium lactate crystals late in the ageing process. The 1833 has complexity but a smooth depth of flavour which makes it definate favourite! The popular cheese comes thoroughly recommended from everyone at field&flower.

The cheese is packaged and delivered in chilled cool boxes packed with ice. You can specify a safe place to leave the box should you not be at home at time of delivery. Store chilled in the refrigerator.
