I've never been let down

I've been a Field and Flower Christmas customer for a few years now and I can honestly say I've never been let down. The turkey we've brought has always turned out perfectly and all present have always complimented it. When combined with the pigs in blankets and stuffing balls visitors think I'm some sort of kitchen deity...

My Christmas delivery was outstanding

My Christmas delivery was outstanding on all fronts. A 1kg side of salmon for gravadlax (super fresh), the finest chicken for Christmas Day (small gathering on the day itself this year), and a huge porchetta for Boxing Day, along with various pigs in blankets and pates etc, all first class. I can’t imagine ordering from anywhere else for Christmas (let alone every week) ever again.

Best turkey ever

The customer service is exceptional. Received email updates and had lots of opportunities to ask questions. Cooking guide is brilliant! The pop-up timer that came with the turkey is a big help. And the turkey!!!! Outstanding flavour and perfectly moist. I fed 14 and they all said best turkey ever!!!

Deliveries
Do you have a minimum spend?

Yes, we have a minimum spend of £39.50, plus £4.95 for weekday deliveries and £5.95 for weekend deliveries.

Sourcing, hand-picking, hand-packing and delivering orders fresh is costly and we often commit to these costs up front. We therefore need to have a minimum order spend to ensure we’re commercially viable as a business. Whilst we appreciate £39.50 is a commitment, you can freeze our products and eat them over a month or longer. Our delivery fee will also stay the same no matter how much you order.

Do I have to sign-up for a subscription?

Not at all. During checkout you can select whether you want your order as a regular subscription delivery or a one-off.

When you sign up to our subscription service, you get access to our Field & Flower Loyalty Scheme with free cuts, including access to our exclusive Member Exclusive range after your tenth order, and £10 off every tenth order.

If I sign-up for a subscription am I tied in?

Definitely not. You're in complete control of how often your order is delivered, when and where it's delivered, and can change the contents in every order. You can also stop your subscription at any time.

What happens if I am not home to receive my delivery?

No need to worry if you're not at home. We will ask you for delivery instructions when you add your delivery address. We will always leave your order according to these instructions.

Why can't I choose a closer delivery date?

To give our farmers and butchers enough time to create bespoke orders, we confirm all orders five days in advance. This allows us to minimise waste as we are nearly always sourcing to your exact order. It also means we can help our suppliers plan ahead and allows us to deliver great quality meat fresh and not frozen.

Why are your products cheaper for subscription orders?

We founded Field & Flower as a subscription business because we found our early customers were often ordering the same products each week through their subscription. Having confirmed subscription orders allows us to give certainty and consistency of orders to our suppliers. This is beneficial for them, and us, so in return we can give our subscription customers access to better pricing. We try and remain competitively priced for both subscription and non-subscription customers, whilst also supporting our British farmers and producers.

How do you guarantee high welfare standards?

Animal welfare is one of our highest priorities and we only work with farmers who use extensive, free-range systems and uphold the best level of care. Free-range farmers allow their animals to live in outdoor conditions and are provided with a natural diet. We regularly visit and carry out audits of our farms, producers and abattoirs to ensure the welfare of livestock meet our standards. We’re also part of the Humane Slaughter Association and work closely with this body to ensure we are upholding the best practices throughout our supply chain.

Can your products be frozen?

Aside from some small exceptions with good reason, all our products are delivered fresh and can be frozen at home. Due to the high quality of our meat and fish, the taste and texture is not impacted during the defrosting process.

Our Wellingtons and some venison are delivered frozen and therefore can’t be refrozen on delivery. This information will be clearly stickered or labelled on the product and is included in the product description on our website.

Our Wellingtons are delivered frozen to ensure that the product arrives perfectly intact and that we’re delivering the highest quality beef. We use centre cut beef fillets to make our Wellingtons, with only two available on each animal. To ensure consistent supply and drive for the best carcass balance, we make our Wellingtons when beef fillets become available to us, rather than sourcing to order.

From May to September, our Venison is also delivered frozen to ensure a consistent supply out of season.

For some products, like our sausage rolls and scotch eggs, we don’t recommend freezing. This is because the texture of the product can be compromised during the defrosting process. We will always add this recommendation to the product description.

Is all your meat British and free-range?

Yes, all of our meat is sourced from small independent British farms and is free-range as the absolute minimum.

Is your fish sustainably caught?

Our fresh, wild fish is caught responsibly and sustainably from independent fishing boats that land in South West fishing ports. We are proud to support our British fishing industry and independent fisherman who prioritise catch methods that uphold the highest level of welfare. These include hook and line, otter trawling and gill netting, which preserves the seabed and protects the natural biodiversity of our waters.

Why is your salmon farmed?

Our Scottish salmon is responsibly and sustainably farmed in the tidal waters of Highland lochs. In some instances, for example with the ever-decreasing global stocks of wild salmon, our belief is that farmed is the most sustainable way to eat this fish. We source from the best suppliers in the UK, who uphold the highest levels of welfare and husbandry and sustainability.

Choosing top quality farmed salmon also allows us to support farming communities and local livelihoods right here in the UK.

Just like with all of our other farmed proteins, we firmly believe that with good husbandry, farming can be an enriching and sustainable practice that protects its environment. Our primary salmon farm, Wester Ross, uses no antibiotics, growth promoters or GMOs. They are medicine-free with very low stocking densities (99% water, 1% fish) and a minimal handling at sea policy, ensuring a slowly grown and naturally healthy fish. The salmon also swim against a natural current as they would in the open water, allowing them to develop a fuller, richer fillet.

Is your meat halal or kosher?

None of our meat is certified Halal or Kosher.

Do I have to receive the same things in each order?

Our subscription is completely flexible, and the contents can be changed before each delivery. This gives you the opportunity to try new things each time, and it’s easy to make the edits using your online account. You have up until five days before your delivery to make any changes.

When is payment taken for my order?

If you’re placing your first subscription order payment will be taken and your order will be processed on the same day you place the order. You cannot make changes to these orders.

For subscription boxes after your first, we take payment five days before your delivery date when your order processes. If you change your upcoming delivery date this will affect your payment date.

When can I make changes to my subscription order?

You can make changes to your subscription order at any time until 11:00pm five days before your order is due to arrive.

Why can't I change my order less than five days before delivery?

Good things take time. Unlike a supermarket or other online retailers that allow you to make changes up until the day of delivery, we source every order directly from our farmers as it comes in. We then pick and pack your order by hand at our Somerset HQ, before sending it to you fresh the very next day via temperature-controlled delivery.

How do I know when my next subscription order will arrive?

You will receive an order reminder email when your deadline is approaching. This gives you the chance to make changes to your order or change your delivery day.

Do you have a minimum spend?

If I sign-up for a subscription order, how regularly will I receive it?

If you sign up for a subscription order, you can choose how often you’d like to get your order during checkout (every 1, 2 or 4 weeks). You can change your frequency whenever you look and can change the contents of every order.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept all major debit and credit cards, including American Express. You can also pay for one-off orders using Apple Pay, Google Pay and Pay Pal. We only accept card payments for subscription or gift card orders.

For subscription boxes after your first, we take payment five days before your delivery date when your order processes. If you change your upcoming delivery date this will affect your payment date.

Can I choose the time of delivery?

We don’t currently offer the option of selecting a delivery time. You’ll receive a delivery notification via text or email on the day of your delivery with a one-hour time slot. Our standard delivery window is between 8AM and 8PM. We take delivery instructions if you’re not home when we’re due to deliver.

What happens if I am not home to receive my delivery?

No need to worry if you're not at home. We will ask you for delivery instructions when you add your delivery address. We will always leave your order according to these instructions.

How is the food packaged and does it stay fresh?

We deliver your order in temperature controlled recyclable boxes with recyclable ice packs, keeping your food chilled for up to 24 hours. While our ice packs may melt when your order is out for delivery, we test our box temperatures weekly to ensure our minimum chill time doesn’t change.

What is the delivery charge?

We charge a flat fee of £4.95 for nationwide weekday deliveries (Monday to Friday) and a flat fee of £5.95 for weekend delivery (Saturday and Sunday).

Delivery fees for Christmas orders vary. You can see our Christmas delivery fees in our Christmas FAQs.

What days do you deliver on?

We deliver every day of the week, Monday to Sunday.

What do I do with my empty boxes? Can they be recycled?

Our cardboard boxes and liners are FSC certified and can be put in your regular household recycling. The ice packs are also 100% recyclable and are filled with purified water. The water can be poured away and the plastic popped in your recycling (although we suggest re-using them as they make great picnic box or lunchbox coolers).
